Getting ready for a major heat wave coming into town. High 90's! Yikes. Time to pull out the summer outfits and pool.

We finally got Lulu's picnic table built. Since there was grass underneath the fort, and we hated mowing/weed wacking it, we felt it was best to get rid of the grass so the picnic table could have a permanent home. We (mainly Greg) pulled out the grass and put down a weed barrier cloth. Then we put down numerous bags of a really cool rubber mulch that is made from old tires. It is soft and won't break down or blow away. And no splinters!

Our garden is doing great. The pumpkin, squash, zuke and cuke plants are huge! The 4 tomato plants that we planted ~1 month ago are very tall with lots of blossoms. The two plants to the left are starts that our neighbor gave us a few days ago. Hopefully they will catch up. The raised beds are continuing to prosper and keep us fed. We will harvest our garlic soon. Lulu likes to pick the snow and snap peas and munch some right there.
Wow! What a neat play area and picnic table. Lulu is lucky! :)
