How Do You Milk An Almond?

I first soaked the almonds.

The almonds were drained, rinsed and fresh water was added.
Throw in some vanilla extract, maple syrup and and a pinch of salt. Blend away!
Almost there.
Pouring it through cheesecloth to catch all the solids (almond meal).

The finished product. The third jar should have been full but I was having trouble pouring from the bowl into the jars and I kept losing a bunch. Greg is a nut milk aficionado and he said it was way better than the store-bought stuff. One pound of raw almonds from Trader Joe's was $5.99. It was a lot of work, but getting nearly three jars (if My pouring skills were better) for under 6 dollars is a pretty good deal. That, and it tastes far superior to the boxed milk.
