Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge Ramble

We went for a hike and to look for aquatic life at a beautiful wildlife refuge in SW Portland. It was a sunny day in the mid 60's with a slight breeze. You couldn't ask for better weather.

There is a kayaker in the distance.

Hard to tell, but a beaver wuz there! Lots of fallen trees with teeth marks on the ends.

There is a plump frog sitting in there.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is  a tadpole/baby frog creature.

A view thru the microscope.

The homeschool gang.

A ginormous birds nest!

What better thing to have after a long day hiking and romping thru ponds but a cookie bigger than your head.
